Board book photo album

Use a large board book, ideally with a theme related to your trip or topic. Glue in photos and scraps. You can print out type on the computer, or use colored tape, office dots, and Sharpie pen for a more direct look.

Hotel slippers

Did you know that the slippers in resort hotel rooms can't be reused for other guests? Why not make them into souvenirs of your amazing vacation? Sharpie pens are remarkably water-resistant (you may get some bleeding and blurring). Decorate the inner sole as well as the shoe; made for adults, these big slippers will frame your little feet.

Fun with binders

Binders are great for storing your art, photos, and writing. You can also use them to start a club: choose a name, a logo, a mission. Add pockets and notebooks. Each member can make her own. Recyle for another project when your club stops meeting.

Nice drawing, great shirt

We used this fashion drawing for a series of t-shirt, some personalized for birthdays and others kept pure (like this one).

Silk Banners

We bought inexpensive white silk scarves from Dharma Trading Company. We painted bold, simple flowers in water color (the paint spreads quickly on the thin silk.) Once the banners were dry, we added lines in black Sharpie to bring forward the images, which had dissolved into the silk.
